Taylor!

Taylor was the gold-ribbon puppy from our Neeka x Vegas litter of 10 (5/5). When the pups were 8 weeks old, Skip and Elsie Stanbridge came to help us assess the litter. We all went out to the puppy pen. Greg and Elsie, who was battling terminal cancer, sat and watched and commented, while Skip and Eleanor posed the pups on the grooming table and moved them around. We went through all the boys, then started with the girls. The Gold Girl was the last to go on the table. We explained that we didn't really have a home lined up for her; there were a couple of possible pet homes but we were really thinking she should go in a show/performance home. Elsie looked at the puppy and said, "Well, you can't give this one away." That was that; we had to find the Gold Girl a home. Eleanor's sister and her husband, who live close by us, were down to one dog (Onyx, a Groenendael male from our Raven x Jenson litter). We asked if they would consider taking the little Gold Girl. After much thought and discussion, they agreed and off she went.

Elsie passed away two months later. We are forever grateful to her and to Skip, whom we lost the following year, for their friendship and wisdom.

Taylor is a sweet and stable girl, happy to do things, easy to live with. She hasn't done any performance training other than basic obedience when she was a pup. She finished her Canadian and American championships easily with limited showing. She hasn't been shown in UKC because she's missing both lower PM2s. Taylor has lovely movement, perfectly true coming and going, with an easy, balanced side gait.

Wattu!

What to say about Wattu? He's a gentleman, a sweet and affectionate boy, rock steady with people, good with other dogs. Stable and outgoing, accepting of change and new experiences (and he's had a few!). Lovely structure and bone, great movement, good head, excellent breed type.

Lois Amer imported Wattu as a puppy to Canada, from Deabei kennels in the Czech Republic. Eleanor met Lois and her fur-kids in March 2015 in Nova Scotia, when we bred Taylor (Sedona's sister) to Wattu. In September 2015, circumstances changed and Lois made the very tough decision to rehome her dogs, and she asked us to help find Wattu a permanent home. With a little help from some friends, I was able to get Wattu and bring him to Ontario. He stayed with us for three weeks and fit in beautifully! Our pack all loved Wattu but we couldn't keep him because we already had four dogs. So Wattu went to his new, forever home in Maine with Ros Arienti (who already had a girl from our Wattu x Taylor litter). He's happy as the proverbial clam now, running in the ocean surf, playing with his girls, snuggling with his people, winning over everyone he meets with his lovely personality and good looks.

Wattu is a multi-group placer in Canada. Lois registered him with AKC in 2015 and he was shown on the east coast at one cluster that spring, winning 6 points including a major. Ros showed him 5 more times for 3 more majors and 2 RWD to majors, finishing his AKC championship (pending verification) in August 2016. What a boy!
